What's happening at Battle Methodist Church?
  • The Emmanuel Centre

The Emmanuel Centre, which will include community facilities and not just be a church, is to be built off Harrier Lane at Blackfriars. Building is scheduled to start in early 2013. For more details click 'About Emmanuel Centre' tab.

  • The Church across the Road

The Function Room of the Senlac Inn, opposite the old Chapel is our temporary home until the Emmanuel Centre opens. Sunday services are held every week at 10.30 a.m. We have a real desire to make the most of our time at The Senlac and look forward to some of the social / fundraising events that we can share togther such as 'Soiree' evenings, August Sundays, a spot of gardening, etc.

  • The old Chapel

The old Chapel was vacated in November 2011 after 185 years of faithful service. Many tears were shed at the last services. The final sale contract was completed on 13 February 2012.

  • Publications

Revd. David Freeland's DVD of the final services at the old Chapel and events up until it's sale 'Taking Leave of the Chapel' can be purchased for £7. Keith Foord's book about Battle Abbey and Battle Churches since 1066 which includes a history of Battle Methodist Church can be purchased for £12.50. All the proceeds from sales of these items will go to the Relocation Fund. Both are available via the church or contact us using the 'Contact us' page.

Emmanuel

Pentecost takes place on the seventh Sunday after Easter, commemorating the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples and the birth of the Christian Church. This year it will be on Sunday 27 May.

We need £840,500 to build Phase 1 of the Emmanuel Centre. The flagon is filling....please help us to fill it to the brim.

I
mages in this panel should change to reflect the passing of the year, with Christian landmarks, natures' change, events, the world around us, and the astronomical and sub-atomic worlds we live in
